Alexya Sawyer Certified Mental Coach

My Paradigm

Hi, I’m Alexya Sawyer—a certified mental health coach, mental health advocate, and a proud member of The Bahamas Psychological Association.

I specialize in supporting individuals facing mental health challenges, whether that’s anxiety, trauma, emotional overwhelm, or simply feeling unseen in a world that often turns away.

My mission is simple: to understand the misunderstood, support the unsupported, and help develop the undeveloped. I strive to be a sound, judgment-free presence for those who’ve felt silenced or shunned, a space where your voice is not only heard but truly understood.

I bring years of hands-on experience across diverse mental health settings. I’ve worked as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), supporting individuals with special needs, including children and adults on the autism spectrum. I’ve served as a residential treatment assistant, supervising individuals in psychiatric care and programs for sexually violent offenders. I’ve also held the role of Mental Health Director at the nonprofit organization It’s Our Turn (IOT), where we served marginalized communities, providing care and advocacy for both children and adults.

These experiences have shaped my understanding of mental health in all its complexity and taught me how to meet people exactly where they are.

I believe mental health is the foundation of everything. Before every action, there is a thought, and those thoughts come from your mind. When your mind is healthy, your life begins to reflect that wholeness. A healthy mind creates space for healing, growth, and peace, and that’s what I’m here to help you find.

My approach is deeply empathetic and client-centered. Clients often tell me they appreciate my keen ability to listen, not just to their words, but to the meaning behind them. I meet you where you are, and we walk the path together. Whether you’re in a valley or on the edge of a breakthrough, I’ll be by your side every step of the way.

It’s time to take back what years of trauma, silence, or survival may have stolen. It’s time to blossom, to feel whole, and to rediscover peace, not just on the surface, but within.

If you’re ready to take the next step, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
