The Serenic Mind Paradigm

Hi, I’m Alexya Newman-Wong (formerly Sawyer).
I am a certified mental health coach and advocate, and a proud member of the Bahamas Psychological Association. However, more than titles, I am a safe place for those who have never truly felt seen.
I work with children, adolescents, and adults navigating the complexities of the mind, anxiety, trauma, emotional overwhelm, behavioral challenges, and the quiet, often unspoken pain of feeling misunderstood in a world that doesn’t always make space to understand.
My mission is simple, yet deeply intentional: to understand the misunderstood, support the unsupported, and nurture what life has left underdeveloped. I create a space where silence is gently unraveled, where your voice is not only heard but also honored.
My work is grounded in both lived experience and professional training. I hold certifications in Autism Awareness Support, where I utilize structured teaching methods to support developmental growth; trauma and post-traumatic stress, with a focus on navigating shock and emotional disruption; Early Childhood Educational Psychology; and the study of Human Behavior, Personality, and Cognition.
These foundations allow me to see beyond behaviors and into the story beneath them, the patterns, the pain, and the possibility.
Over the years, I’ve worked in diverse and often complex mental health settings. As a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), I supported individuals on the autism spectrum and those facing emotional and behavioral challenges, helping them build regulation, confidence, and stability.
My experience also extends into residential treatment, where I supervised individuals in psychiatric care and within programs for sexually violent offenders. These spaces required not only structure but also deep emotional intelligence, boundaries, and compassion without compromise.
I later served as the Mental Health Director at the nonprofit It’s Our Turn (IOT), advocating for and supporting marginalized communities, meeting both children and adults in some of their most vulnerable moments, and walking with them toward stability, dignity, and healing.
Each space I’ve entered has shaped how I show up today: present, perceptive, and deeply attuned.
I believe that everything begins in the mind. Before every action, there is a thought, and those thoughts shape the life we experience. When the mind is nurtured, aligned, and cared for, life begins to reflect that internal healing.
My approach is intentional, intuitive, and client-centered. I listen beyond words; I listen for meaning, for patterns, for what has been left unsaid. I meet you exactly where you are, without pressure, without judgment, and without pretense.
This is not just guidance; it is a partnership.
Whether you find yourself in a season of breaking, becoming, or rebuilding, you will not walk it alone.
This is your space to reclaim what was lost.
To soften what was hardened.
To rediscover peace, not as a surface experience but as an internal truth.

If you are ready, I am here to walk with you.
